What we collect

Listing details you submit (business name, address, contact info, photos), account email, messages you send through lead, review, and suggestion forms, and basic first-party usage counts such as business profile views and clicks on a listing's contact buttons. Those counts are stored without cookies, IP addresses or visitor profiles, using a random identifier that lasts only for your current browser tab session.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for sign-in and security. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, we do not run remarketing trackers, and we do not sell personal data or share it for targeted advertising. Our usage counts are first-party and cookie-free.

How we use it

To publish and maintain directory listings, deliver leads and notifications to listing owners, process Velvet Worm Pro subscriptions through our payment processor, and improve the directory.

Email we send

Some email is necessary to run your listing and account: listing status, leads and messages sent to you, account and security notices, and billing receipts. Those are service messages and are sent regardless of marketing preferences.

Marketing email — visibility tips, new Learning Center training, Pro feature news and GROW service offers — is optional and opt-in only. The box is never pre-checked, declining it never affects your listing, and you can turn it on or off at any time under Email preferences in your owner dashboard or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message. We keep a record of when consent was given or withdrawn.

Your Colorado rights

Under the Colorado Privacy Act you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may opt out of any processing described above. Email hello@thevelvetworm.com and we will respond within 45 days.
